ALWS and Schools

Did you know the team at ALWS can present at schools?  ALWS staff are committed to providing schools with resources that can inspire, equip and encourage students to explore their role in issues like social justice, human rights and development.

Sunshine Christian School in the west of Melbourne is blessed to serve 95 children, where 81% of children have a language background other than English.

The students are drawn together by their Lutheran school motto ‘Living as children of the light’, and striving to be a community ‘loving God, loving others, loving learning’.

‘Loving others’ is what the school did in raising $280 to help people through ALWS. The Student Council organised a gold coin Dress-up Day based on what occupation each child wanted to do.

Staff organised a Walk-a-thon where the school sponsored students 10 cents for each lap they did.

You can be sure there will be smiles and joy way beyond Sunshine because of these children!
